- ๐ช Markets โ trade hubs where the owner earns a fee on sales. Stock and demand come from the buildings in the market zone. The hub itself doesn't buy or sell โ your merchants do the trading.
- Workshops โ turn inputs into outputs (
OFF/AUTO/ON).AUTOwon't buy inputs while the output's spot value is below the combined spot value of the inputs (it still crafts from its own stash and sells the output).ONalways buys and gets priority on reservations. The icon matches the output good. Each workshop has its own stash (separate from market stock). When output leaves the stash it sells in this order: (1) your merchants at this market whose route still needs that good (spot price, market fee, counts for merchant and workshop P/L โ outside the public queue); (2) local buy orders (|); (3) listed on the market under the workshop id. Producers add goods straight to market stock โ they never ship to your merchants directly. You can build workshops in any market zone, including rivals' โ the workshop stays yours. - Your merchants and your workshops (same account): when a merchant sells, cargo fills your workshop input stash first (free). When a merchant buys manually, it pulls from your workshop stash and your workshop's listings first (free). That is separate from step (1) above, which is the workshop auto-selling output to a merchant that is already waiting to buy on its route.
- Consumers (demand) โ extra demand at your markets only. You can place several of the same type, and their demand stacks. Houses in the zone boost those sites by 25% each (shown as
(+X% Demand)on the market sheet). Houses can't be built โ they appear based on staple prices and from hut clusters on the map. The house count follows the meter; see Trading.
Demand types
The wants below apply to this match (events can change them).
| Icon | Type | Wants |

| ๐ | houses (from the map and the meter, not built) | ๐ rice, ๐พ wheat, ๐ซ bing, ๐ hemp_clothes, ๐บ pottery |

The Arabian sands map has three more sites, which you build the same way:

Roman roads has seven more sites, built the same way:

The house meter sets how many houses a market has. The count goes up or down when at least one of ๐ rice, ๐พ wheat, ๐ซ bing and at least one of ๐ hemp_clothes, ๐บ pottery are in the cheap or expensive band. The cap is 20 per market. More houses โ faster buy orders from every demand building in that zone.
Placement
- Open Build. At the bottom, pick a market (same row as the Market sheet) or tap New ๐ช to place another โ tap the map for a preview, then confirm on the map bar (Place market ยท ๐ฐโฆ; the cost is only on that button).
- With a market selected at the bottom, add workshops (any market) or demand (yours only) โ the server picks a free tile in that market's zone.
The market zone covers every tile whose center is inside the radius. The preview highlights the buildings the market would cover.
Placement checks for overlap, spacing, impassable terrain and map bounds. A live status is shown while you place.
You can build during the opening pause. Buildings appear immediately, even though the rest of the world is frozen.
Map colors
Roads are brown and rivers are blue, with bridges where they cross. Markets are circles (๐ช). Ports sit on the river network โ look for โ (see Trading).
